Connecting communities to technology, digital skills and opportunity since 2004.
Founded in Uganda in 2004, Telekom Equator began by providing accessible internet and digital services to communities in Soroti and Mbale, at a time when personal access to computers and the internet remained limited.
Our early centres offered internet browsing, printing, scanning and other essential ICT services, while also responding to a growing need for practical digital skills. Many of our customers were using computers, email and common software applications for the first time.
This naturally led Telekom Equator to expand beyond access to technology and into digital skills development and practical ICT training.
From its early years, Telekom Equator supported individuals in developing the basic digital skills needed for education, employment and everyday communication.
Training and guidance covered areas such as:
Our approach has always been practical and accessible: helping people become more confident and independent users of technology, regardless of their starting level.
Technology services and solutions adapted to local and organisational needs.
Practical training designed to improve digital confidence, knowledge and capability.
Development and coordination of initiatives that use technology to address real-world needs.
Supporting greater access to digital tools, information and communication technologies.
We believe that access to technology is most valuable when people also have the knowledge and confidence to use it.
For more than two decades, Telekom Equator has combined technology with practical skills development, with a particular understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with digital inclusion in Uganda.
Making technology useful, accessible and empowering.
Telekom Equator combines telecommunications experience with innovation, digital skills development and practical knowledge of Uganda's evolving ICT landscape.
